Ghana’s Serbia-based striker Yaw Antwi is eyeing a move to the German top flight league after almost single-handedly hauling his side out of the relegation zone.
The 24-year-old, who plays for FK Napredak KruÃ…¡evac, has attracted interest European team including local teams giants and 1990 Uefa Champions League winners Red Star Belgrade.
Despite joining the club Napredak KruÃ…¡evac late last year when they were in the relegation zone, his eight goals so far have helped to ease their relegation fears.
But his change in agents, Virtus International, has massively boosted his chances of leaving the Serbian league to play in the Bundesliga as he has signed for a German King and Rush Sport Management.
"I have had some interest in some German club since I signed for this management company because they brought German clubs to Serbia to watch my matches," Antwi told Ghanasoccernet.
"So far some clubs in Germany, here in Serbia and another one in Spain are those who have told my agents they are interested in me.
"I am very satisfied because I am happy, the future is bright and with this European experience I am ready to take on the top defenders in Europe.
"My former agents were very understanding of my desire to play in the Bundesliga and they allowed me to leave. I am grateful to them because they brought here to show my talents to the world.
"They have allowed me to join the German guys so I hope that by the summer, God willing, I will move to Germany to play in the Bundesliga."
The forward, who is in the periphery of the Black Stars squad, is keen on a place at the World Cup and says he will prove himself if he is called for the tournament in South Africa.
"My performance here has been great and I am hoping that I can also be called at least to justify myself for the World Cup for the people of Ghana to see," Antwi said.
"I am one of the few Ghana strikers playing regular football in one of the toughest leagues in Europe and scoring. I know I will deliver when I am called.
"The coach of Ghana has been here to watch one of my matches which I did very well but since then I have not heard from him. I know he is monitoring other leagues and players too.
"But I am hoping that he can also give me the chance at least to come to the pre-tournament camp to show him what I am capable of doing."
Antwi has been hailed as the 'Messiah' of Napredak by fans of the club as his goals helped them to move from 15th to 12th in the 16-team league but he insists he can do more.
"I am confident that the best is yet to come from me because every day I am improving," Antwi told Ghanasoccernet.
"The fans have been fantastic with me and now i can't even walk in town without fans praising me. I thank them for their support and will assure them I want to do more to make them happy."
