Black Stars open training camp in Kenya for Congo, England matches

Ghana opened their training camp  in Kenya on Monday ahead of two important matches against Congo and England over the next eight days.

Coach Goran Stevanovic and his assistants arrived on Nairobi early on Monday to prepare for the arrival of players later in the day.

They Black Stars are seeking serious preparations for Sunday's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Congo in Brazzaville.

The players are expected to start arriving by Monday evening with training expected to start in later in the day.

The Europe-based players will start arriving in camp on Monday afternoon as some players will train under Stevanovic for the first time.

Most of the players in England are expected to arrive in Kenya by Tuesday while the majority especially those who played on Saturday must join the training in the East African country on Monday.

With the qualifiers heading into the third round of games in Group I, the Black Stars, joint-top of the group.

Ghana, on four points have a better goal difference ahead of Sudan from their opening two games while Congo are just a point behind in the group.

A five-day training camp in Kenya has been arranged as the Black Stars aim to claim the three points in Brazzaville to enhance their chances of reaching the finals in the competition to be staged by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Stevanovic last week announced his 24-man squad for the Congo game and the friendly with England, two days later.
