Ghana's U-23 team have been left wondering if they will be receiving any rewards from the state after clinching gold at the All Africa Games.

The Government of Ghana have in recent past made it a habit of conferring state honours on teams and individuals who excel in the various sporting disciplines.

It is however not readily known whether a similar gesture of appreciation will be made to the Black Meteors who going into the tournament were faced with numerous challenges.

"I don't know whether the sate would be offering anything more apart from the normal winning bonuses which has been honoured after Saturday's win over South Africa," the team's management committee boss Randy Abbey said.

However after making history by winning Ghana's first ever gold in the games, it will be very inconceivable to think the efforts of the gallant men will go unnoticed.

There is also a case to be made for the womens U-20 team, the Black Princesses who also did very well at the games despite loosing out on the ultimate to Cameroon.

They,  just like the male team, braved the storm in defyng all odds straight from the qualification series up until the final game where they surrenderd to a 1-0 defeat to the Indomitable Lionesses.

Both teams are expected to arrive back in Ghana early Wednesday morning.
