Ghana U17 captain Eric Ayiah fails to make final cut for CAF Youth Player of the Year award

Ghana U17 captain Eric Ayiah was omitted from the final three-man shortlist for the 2017 CAF Youth Player of the Year award.

The Charity Stars FC ace was removed from the preliminary five-man list alongside South Africa winger Luther Singh.

Senegal's Krepin Diatta and Patson Daka of Austrian side FC Liefering and Mali starlet Salam Giddou of Guidars who starred at the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup made the cut.

CAF president Dr Ahmad Ahmad supervised the ceremony in Accra on Monday, 18 December 2017.

The winner at the announced at the Awards Gala which will take place on Thursday, 4 January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
