Jeff Schlupp scored for Leicester City

Black Stars players were in fine form for their various clubs over the weekend before they head into the international break with Ghana.

Versatile full-back Jeffrey Schlupp netted the opening goal for Leicester City in the English Premier League on Saturday as they drew 2-2 with Burnley. Schlupp brilliantly tucked home a cross from the right to power the Foxes upfront. His form is expected to earn his starting spot in Maxwell Konadu's side.

But the story was not the same for winger Christian Atsu who was left out of the Everton squad that lost 2-1 at the Old Trafford against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Leading striker and captain Asamoah Gyan was not in the Al Ain team when they suffered a 4-3 loss in the UAE Pro League. Gyan is expected to join his Black Stars team-mates early in Morocco.

Elsewhere in Germany, Augsburg moved tenth despite suffering a 1-0 away loss at Wolfsburg. Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman started and completed the game for Augsburg.

Midfielder Afriyie Acquah missed Parma’s 2-1 home reverse against Genoa with suspension. The 23-year-old is one of the players expected to arrive early due to his inactivity over the weekend.

There was full time action for midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu as he played the entire 90 minutes for Udinese who dropped to fourth after drawing 1-1 with Cesena.

Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was in full time action for Juventus who resisted a strong AS Roma performance to win 3-2 in the Serie A on Sunday night.

In France, defender Jonathan Mensah was in commanding form for Evian TG who recorded another impressive win after beating Metz 3-0.

Still in France, Jordan Ayew set up both goals for Lorient who returned from their trip to Bastia with a 2-0 win. Olympique Marseille stretched their winning run beyond five games after beating Caen 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Ghana’s Andre Ayew played the entire game for Marseille as well as Dennis Appiah did for Caen.

In Turkey, Karabükspor made good of themselves after beating Trabzonspor 3-0. Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris was not in the best of forms in attack for Trabzonspor and was replaced in the 58th minute.

Wakaso Mubarak played 61 minutes for Celtic who lost 1-0 against leaders Hamilton Academical.

In Sweden David Accam failed to find the net for Helsingborg IF who won 4-1 against Kalmar. But he set up two goals.

Winger Solomon Asante assisted two goals for TP Mazembe who beat AS Bantous 7-0. Defender Yaw Frimpong also played in the game.
