Ghana's John Antwi moans over Al Ahly playing time

Ghana forward John Antwi has lamented on the less playing time he was given at Al Ahly SC.

The 25-year-old joined Al Ahly from fellow Egyptian side Ismaily at the start of the 2015 season and scored ten goals in 29 appearances before being shipped out on loan to Misr Lel-Massaka SC the following season.

But the sharp-shooter's loan stint with the Fayoum-based side was extended after it became evident that he has no place in the team.

Speaking to ON Sport TV channel after scoring against his parent club over the weekend, Antwi stated that he was not given the chance to exhibit his talent at the club.

“I needed enough space and a proper chance to be able to perform well. I was not given that during my time at Al Ahly."

“I can not talk about where I will go after the end of the season and choosing between Al Ahly and Maqassa, I am only focused on playing for Maqassa right now.”

Makasa’s President Mohamed Abdel-Salam is keen on signing Antwi on a permanent deal as he has assured the fans that the Ghanaian goal machine will remain at the Fayoum Stadium.

“Antwi’s contract is a loan contract with an option to buy and we are going to activate this option,”
