Young Ghanaian midfielder Jordan Ayew says the experience of winning the French will spur him on to greater things in his career.

Ayew was part of the Marseille team clinched the Ligue 1 title after a 3-1 win at home to Rennes on Wednesday night.

The 18-year-old, despite being in the sidelines for the Rennes game, played a part in Marseille's season for the first time since 1992.

It was a historic win for Ayew as his father Abedi Pele was part of the team that won the club's last league title in 1992.

Ayew, says with the support he has received from the club, coach Didier Deschamps, and football fans including Ghanaians will help him achieve great things.

"I saw a great experience at this club. I'm fortunate to live unforgettable moments like tonight. Personally, I continue to learn," Ayew said.

"We are sacred Champions of France and it's fabulous! For me, this title is a lot of things.

"I am fortunate to have a coach who trusted me. I thank you very much, and club officials.

"All world is behind me, it gives me great strength."

Ayew is set to play a greater role next season as they will be involved in many competitions including the Champions League.

He is expected to be part of Ghana's next U20 team which might require some travel time in the qualifiers.
