Glo still interested in Ghana League

Nigeria-based telecommunication giants Globacom has reaffirmed its financial commitment to the Ghana Premier League even though it is yet to begin operations in the country.

A meeting between officials of the telephony company and the Ghana Football Association and the Premier League board on Wednesday quelled rumours that they will withdraw their sponsorship deal.

Glo Mobile Ghana, a subsidiary of Globacom International, began a five-year sponsorship beginning the 2008/09 season for US$ 15 million.

It has made a pledged to pay the arrears of last season’s sponsorship fee in installments.
