Goran Stevanovic ready for Ghana pressure

Serb Goran Stevanovic has admitted there is lot of pressure on him to succeed as Ghana national team coach.

The 44-year old was answering questions from the Ghanaian press after been unveiled by the Ghana FA as the third Serb in succession to lead the Black Stars.

Stevanovic will attempt to fill in the boots of compatriots Ratomir Dujkovic and Milovan Rajevac who led Ghana to impressive feats at the 2006 and 2010 World finals respectively. .

Dujkovic led the Black Stars to the 1/16th stage in Germany and Rajevac progressed to the last eight in South Africa and was losing finalist at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

The former Partizan Belgrade boss who looked enthusiastic about his new job admits the challenges ahead but says he is ready.

"I know there is lot of pressure especially after what my fellow countrymen did here. I know it’s not going to be easy but I am a fighter and a winner and so will do my best to win title for the country," Stevanovic said

"It is all good to be second, third fourth or even fifth but what is most important is to be first and that's my top priority."
