Ghanaian youth forward Patrick Twumasi netted a treble for Astana who enhanced their chances of winning the Kazakhstan Premier League after demolishing Aktobe 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old former Black Satellites triallists propelled Astana into the lead by striking four minutes before the break at the Astana Arena before returning after the interval to score two more.

Astana's lead was cushioned when Central African Republic attacker Foxi Kéthévoama made it 2-0 just six minutes after the break.

Just a minute later, Twumasi grabbed his second goal of the afternoon after brazing through the defence to nail home a loose ball.

The double could not quench his appetite for more goals as he added the third in the 75th minute before he was replaced three minutes later.

Twumasi has now scored six times in the league for Astana who are in competition to win the league title as they are playing in the Championship Playoffs.

He is a graduate of Ghana's Red Bull Academy and has had spells in Russia with Amkar Perm' and Latvia with Spartaks.
