In-form Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga has expressed his delight with his maiden Black Stars call-up.

The towering guardsman has been handed his maiden Black Stars call up following a remarkable display for Hearts of Oak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The former Ebusua Dwarfs defender was called up into the team after their 2-2 draw against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in the first leg of the 2018 CHAN qualifiers in Ouagadougou over the weekend.

He has already begun training with the side as they prepare for the return leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

"Everything at camp is good ,I am happy to be part of the team and this is the right time for my call up," says the 21-year-old defender.

"This my first and hope for better days ahead, coach will decide whether can be part of the final 18 and to start in the game."

He holds the record as the only player in Hearts of Oak to play 24 consecutive league games.
