Hearts of Oak coy on Ernest Sowah rumour

Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has heaped praises on goalkeeper Ernest Sowah but was coy to confirm their interest in the player.

Sowah mutually terminated his contract with the Porcupine Warriors on Friday after he was frozen out of the first team by the club's management over bribery allegations.

Reports went widespread over the weekend that Hearts of Oak have opened negotiations with the 30-year-old shot-stopper.

However, the club's scribe declined to confirm or deny the report, though he lavished adulation on the former Tema Youth custodian.

"We can't say much about a player who's not officially ours. We've heard the reports being circulated in the media but I don't know if anything about his future with us has been decided as at now," Opare told Goal.

"We've released one of our goalkeepers so obviously, several other players will be linked to replace him but we will announce who the fortunate one is very soon.

"Sowah is a very good goalkeeper and everyone in this country is aware of his talent since he was previously with the Black Stars. We want quality goalkeeper and the supporters will be happy who finally joins us before the second round of the season starts," he added.

Sowah was part of the Black Stars squad that finished as runners-up at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations held in Equatorial Guinea.
