Accra Hearts of Oak fans on social media have voted Thomas Abbey as the club’s Player of the Year 2017.
The former Hearts captain produced his best performance in the club’s colours last season, finishing as the third top-scorer in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League and Hearts’ leading net poacher.
Abbey beat Winful Cobbinah, Patrick Razak, and Vincent Atingah to the award.
The versatile player scored 15 goals in all competitions for Hearts, with 13 coming in the league.
He recently joined Ismaily SC of Egypt after attempts to join South African side Ajax Cape Town broke down.
