Accra Hearts of Oak has out-doored activities to mark their 100 years in existence at a media launch held at the plush Alisa Hotel on Friday.

The launch which brought together virtually all members of the Phobian family under one roof also saw the participation of representatives from other clubs and officials of the Ghana Football Association.

The occasion was also graced by a delegation from the English Premier League headed by their chairman Sir David Richards who is in town to meet stakeholders on improving the local league.

Hearts' board chairman Commodore Mensah welcomed and informed the gathering on the elaborate program put in place while giving some historic background of the club.

"The essence of the interaction with the media this evening is to solicit your assistance and cooperation in propagating and promoting all the programmes, activities and events associated with the celebration," he said.

"We also want to the media to join us pay fitting tribute to past generations of Phobians who in diverse ways contributed to the legacy of Hearts of Oak.

In performing the official launch, the guest of honour and an astute Phobian Totobi Kwakye charged the current management to work hard in restoring the past glories of the club.

"I used to go to church on Sunday mornings but received the benediction at the stadium and I am sure many did same back in the days," he said.

"It doesn't happen nowadays because the fans don't get to enjoy watching  players display high skill of football artistry.

"I therefore charge the current management to strive in restoring this feeling in fans and I can assure I will do whatever in my capacity to support this great club."

The official centenary logo was unveiled to cap a wonderful night.
