Hearts sack head coach Yusif Abubakar

Dethroned Ghana League champions Hearts of Oak have dismissed head coach Yusif Abubakar for technical incompetence with one match to end the season.

Abubakar, an assistant coach, was promoted to take over from Egyptian trainer Ayman El Yamani who was sacked on boxing day last year after 11 league matches.

The former Gamba All Black coach took charge of 18 league matches with the club set to end the season at home against Heart of Lions.

Hearts are now in third place and out of contention for the league title.

Abubakar was in charge of the Hearts team that lost 1-0 to Asante Kotoko's Under-20 team on Sunday in the May 9 anniversary match but management says that did not cost him his job.

"This decision was taken long ago. At this moment, it's unfortunate that he can't be part of our technical team but it is nothing acrimonious and assistant coach Tony Allotey will take charge of the last game. " Frank Nelson told Ghanasoccernet.com

"We have done a technical analysis of some the defeats this season and we reached the point that his mistakes have overflown his cup and that he must go." ?
