Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew was on the assist twice for Lorient who ended their winless run by beating Bastia 2-0 at their own backyard in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

Jordan had had a shot comfortably saved by Alphonse Areola before creating the second goal for former Arsenal forward Sunu, who displayed quick footwork before finding the back of the net.

But before creating the second goal, 22-year-old had laboured to ensure Bastia score an own-goal before their home fans. Lorient made the breakthrough three minutes after the break when Jordan crossed in a ball which totally missed a Jeannot kick and Peybernes, the former Sochaux defender, turned the ball into his own net.

After assisting in both goals, it looked likely Jordan was going to register his name on the score-sheet but he surprisingly poked a harmless shot into the waiting hands of the Bastia keeper.

Though Jordan failed to score in the game, his influence was crucial for Lorient in the game.
