Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has defused talks of potential European qualification for Eintracht Frankfurt despite their fine start to the Bundesliga season.

The Eagles moved level on points with Augsburg on the German Bundesliga standings after Boateng's late goal saw them leave Hertha Berlin with a 2-1 victory on Sunday.

The three points earned in Berlin leaves coach Niko Kovac's side in 8th place with 22 points, same points as 6th place team Borussia Dortmund who occupy the last European qualification spot.

When asked how he responds to questions about Frankfurt booking a qualification to Europe, the the 30-year-old Ghanaian forward replied: "That's nice."

"I'm happy when players have ambitions and they say that openly, but we know very well that you cannot get anywhere with a lot of talk, but the guys are in a good mood and also want to work. Obviously we're looking up, it's nice to be there, but we know it's very tight and can go down very fast."

Boateng has netted three goals in 12 appearances for Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
