Eintracht Frankfurt forward Kevin Prince Boateng has urged his team-mates to recover from their loss against Schalke 04 ahead of their DFB Pokal final against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Boateng is expected to be named in Niko Kovac's starting side when the Frankfurt battle Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the final of this season's German Cup at the Allianz Arena.

The Eagles will go into the match on the back of a defeat against Schalke 04 in the final game of the league season - which ended their dream of picking the last European spot.

However, Boateng commended the efforts of his team-mates during the just ended campaign and entreated them to focus in a bid to finish the season with a flourish by overcoming the Bavarian giants.

"We must not let this pull us down now," Boateng appealed to Schalke's failure to his teammates, "I'm proud of the troupe."

"The final is a highlight and we can still make it," Boateng said. "It's going to be tough, but that Bayern can lose is something we saw today."

Boateng netted six goals in 31 games to help the side finish 8th on the standings.
