Fans of Asante Kotoko have expressed disgust at the Referees Appointment Committee to pick controversial referee Awal Mohammed to handle Sunday's Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.

The group believes the Wa-based official is not the best to handle a match of this caliber judging from his previous performances.

Mohammed was at the centre of the pitch when Kotoko boycotted the medal presentation of the President's Cup in July.

Spokesperson for the Cirlces, as they are known, Nana Kwame Dankwa told GHANAsoccernet. com:

"We have had a lot of agitations and all sorts of grievances from various sections of our teeming fans immediately after the appointment of Awal.

"This is the same referee who fumbled with us during our game Berekum Chelsea at the start of the season.

He has struggled to handle high profile matches so clearly he's not the best choice to handle this match in our view"

Mohammed will be assisted by A.S. Malik and Tanko Ganiyu with William Agbovi acting as the fourth official in Sunday's Premier League top liner.
