Kotoko silence All Stars to mark revival

Asante Kotoko marked their revival with a 0-2 win at Wa All Stars and Real Tamale United broke a 33-year jinx of beating Hearts of Oak in Accra.

Striker Nathaniel Asamoah who joined Kotoko for the second round punished his former side by getting both goals.

Kotoko have now moved 8th on the standings and are 14 points adrift the top.

Relegation battlers RTU needed a Sumaila Nyaya goal to shock Hearts of Oak 0-1 in Accra, the first since making their league debut in 1978.

Leaders Chelsea needed an injury-time winner to claim a 2-1 victory over Mighty Jets at the Golden City Park to maintain a seven-point gap at the top.
