Asante Kotoko players have signed 'get-well-soon' cards to be given to Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper broke his finger during Hearts' 2-1 loss to Kotoko in the big Ghanaian derby last Sunday.

McCarthy had thwarted several chances of the Porcupine Warriors to extend their 1-0 lead at the time before going off injured in uncontrollable tears.

The Asante Kotoko team arrives in Accra on Thursday ahead of Saturday's league game with Mighty Jets.

They intend taking time off to pay the injured goalkeeper a visit where the 'get-well-soon" cards will be given him as a sign of solidarity.

The ex Fetteh Feyenoord player had been in inspired form in recent games and was believed to be in line for a return to the senior national for assignments in June.
