Ghana and Young Boys Kassim Nuhu has described Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah as a leader and a motivator who will always want to get the best out of his players.

Kassim has not been with the Black Stars for long but the roly-poly defender sees the Ghana tactician as a mentor.

“He is a leader, a mentor and a motivator who I look up to him. He is very dedicated to his work and keen on achieving results. He is a great coach and a blessing to the team,” Kassim told GHANAsoccernet.com

The 23-year old was handed his first call up into Ghana’s senior national team by Coach Kwasi Appiah and found the back of the net in his debut for the Black Stars.

The in-form Young Boys defender scored the first of three goals to aid the Black Stars in a 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia at the King Abdallah Stadium in Jeddah.

Following his short stint with the team, the former Medeama SC defender sees Kwasi Appiah as the chief architect of the new wind blowing in the Black Stars.

“I have not been with the team for long but the man is a great leader. He has a way of talking to every player and has a style of getting us give our best.

“He motivated me ahead of the game against Saudi Arabia and I was happy to work for him,” he added.

Kassim hopes of subsequent call ups and promises to give his all for the country.
