Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has hailed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Black Stars participation in the 2014 World Cup insisting the platform provided the GFA to clear several misconceptions about the federation.

The lawyer made this revelation after ending his three-day episode with the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission gathering facts about Ghana’s poor showing at the 2014 World Cup.

Nyantakyi used the opportunity provided to clear several misconceptions about the operations of the Ghana FA.

He was also successful in explaining thorny issues including the disbursement of $577,500 budgeted as appearance fee for ‘management’ for the World Cup staged in Brazil.

Reports were rife that the amount was shared amongst the seven-member Black Stars management committee including that of the late Jordan Anagblah and Emmanuel Kyeremeh who was not in Brazil - with each receiving $82,500.

But Nyantakyi explained to the understanding of the commission that only $165,000 was shared amongst the Black Stars management committee members present in Brazil with the remaining $412,500 was shared to other members of the Ghanaian delegation at the World Cup including officials of the Sports Ministry and beyond.

The GFA boss’ appearance before the commission was predicted by sections of the Ghanaian media as an avenue to reveal how corrupt he and the association he presides over is.

And even though the commission succeeded in identifying some shortcomings in the operations of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi largely acquitted himself with distinction.

This led to wild jubilations amongst his supporters after he was finally discharged by the commission.

The excited supporters lifted the GFA boss shoulder high while hailing him with a round of songs.

The premises of the commission's public hearings had recorded a packed capacity over the past three days with most attending in support of Ghana FA President who also confirmed his interest in becoming President of CAF after the exit of Issa Hayatou.
