Liberty vie for Lagos Youth Cup

Liberty Professionals youth team begin the quest for glory at the maiden Lagos Youth tournament on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Sports stadium against hosts Lagos United.

Coach Felix Aboagye and his 18-man squad took their turn to train on the synthetic turf of the stadium ahead of their opening game against their host.

Four teams from four different countries are participating in the six-day tourney.

Lagos United (Nigeria), Liberty Professionals (Ghana), Supersports United (South Africa) and FC Utrecht (Holland) will be seeking for honours.

"The boys have trained well, they have been well psyched and are ready for anyone,"Aboagye told Libertypros.com.

The Lagos State government, organisers of the tournament, say they have paid a total sum of 60, 000 euros as participation fee to the three invited clubs.
