Premier League side Heart of Lions say coach Hans Vander Plyum's unexpected remains a misery.

The Dutch tactician quit the Kpando-based side on Monday with very little reason behind his decision.

Lions’ team manager Yashin Laryea says Plyum's departure from the club will have negative repercussions on the club's plans for forthcoming season.

"It is quiet disappointing because we are facing financial constraints but our President Victor Ahiakpor has done well to settle all debts so salary can never be a factor for his resignation," he said.

"I am shocked about his decision because i was with him in my office this morning discussing about our squad for this season and was told that he tended in his resignation just after leaving my office.''

Lions begin their league campaign at home against newly-promoted Wassaman FC on 9 October.
