Egypt strolled to a comfortable 2-0 win over Uganda in a friendly played on Monday in Cairo to prepare for next month's World Cup playoff first leg against Ghana.

Ahmed Eid opened the scoring on seven minutes and Hazem Emam added the second after 68 minutes at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, venue for the return leg encounter of the qualifier.

The Pharaohs fielded a home-based side but weakened team after Al Ahly recalled 11 of their players to prepare for next week's CAF Champions League semi-final at Coton Sport.

Egypt coach Bob Bradley wanted to give his fringe players the need test before travelling to Ghana.

The Pharaohs will face the Black Stars on 15 October at the Baba Yara Stadium.
