Local Black Stars unhappy with facilities at Wad Madani

Ghana's home-based national team have complained about the poor facilities at their Wad Madani base, one of the five venues for the CHAN tournament which begins on Friday.

The local Black Stars arrived in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum on Tuesday and left for Madany, 200 km away, on Thursday but were shocked at the ill-preparedness of the venue.

"The facilities are not the best and I don't know why Caf would award a tournament like this here. It's not the best for us but we will manage," Head of Ghana's delegation George Afriyie told Accra-based Hot FM.

We can't use this as an excuse but I'm disappointed with the facilities available to the team."

Ghana's Group B opener is against South Africa on Saturday at the Madany.
