Marseille chairman Jean-Claude Dassier says the French giants are keen to discuss a new contract with Ghana teenage sensation Jordan Ayew to a long term deal at the club.

The younger son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has earned massive reviews in the European country for his stellar performances for the club this season.

His current deal expires at the end of 2012 season and the Stade Velodrome side wants to quickly tie him down to a permanent deal to ward off any potential swoop for the youngster.

Jean-Claude Dassier said: “Jordan Ayew will be a free agent in one year. Of course we will look to prolong his contract.”

Speculations continue to reign on the future of manager Didier Deschamps who is reported to be on his way out of the club and sources say Ayew’s decision to either prolong his stay or otherwise will rely heavily on the future of the former international.
