Head of the Ghana Football Association technical directorate Francis Oti Akenteng has backed Black Stars stop-gap coach Maxwell Konadu to live up to the task.

Konadu will handle the double qualifiers against Guinea this month in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars, joint leaders in Group E, need a win to tighten their grip at the summit.

Akenteng believes Konadu, who led Ghana to win silver at the 2014 African Nations Championship, has what it takes to ensure the stars take maximum points against the Syli Nationale in Casablanca.

“I am very confident in the technical abilities of Maxwell Konadu and I am sure he can handle the team to achieve success,” Akenteng said.

“He has proven beyond doubt that he is capable of handling the team on several occasions and I am he will do a good job against Guinea.”
