Medeama Chief Executive James Essilfie believes Hearts of Oak will be dangerous in the second half of the current campaign.

The Phobians put up an improved performance against the Mauve and Yellows despite drawing 1-1 at the Cape Coast stadium.

Aboubacar Troare gave the host a deserved 1-0 lead in the 37th minute after latching onto a defensive mishap.

The Accra giants showed immense quality in the first half and made work thicker for the Premier League leaders.

The looked much hungrier and took the game to Medeama who struggled to deal with the tempo and aerial ability.

However,  the Phobians power-play eluded them in the second half as Medeama took control and dictated the pace.

The two-time FA Cup holders eventually broke several hearts after substitute Tahiru Awudu scored a world class equalizer to at the death to deny the former African champions.

But Medeama's hardworking chief James Essilfie is predicting a brighter future for the Phobians in the second half of the campaign.

"Hearts have improved tremendously and I'm convinced they will be dangerous in the second round," he said

"It's indeed surprising to see where they lie on the table. It's not a true reflection of where they should be..

"I think it's work in progress and they will get it right along the line. But like I said, they will be dangerous."

The two teams will square off at the Tarkwa NA Aboso Park when the second round resumes.
