US-based midfielder Patrick Nyarko admitted he was extremely honoured to have earned an unexpected senior Ghana invitation.

The 26-year-old claims he was starstruck meeting some renowned Black Stars players after a receiving a last minute call.

The Chicago Fire second striker made his debut as a second half substitute by replacing AC Milan ace Sulley Muntari at half-time.

"I was kind of starstruck yesterday when I joined the team. I saw Sulley Muntari and I saw Derek Boateng," the Chicago Fire midfielder said in a post match interview.

''I grew up watching those guys play and to be on the field when the national anthem was played was the most special moment in my life.

''I just stood there and wondered if it was all a dream.''

Nyarko moved to the United States in 2005 and three-time All-ACC selection for the Virginia Tech Hokies football team.
