ENGLAND

Arsenal's miserable run in the Premiership continued on Saturday as they contributed two own goals to add to Yakubu Aiyegbeni's brace to loose 4-3 at Blackburn Rovers.

Hard-tackling Emmanuel Frimpong did not make the trip to the Ewood Park.

Midfielder Prince Buaben continues to stay out of the Watford first team squad.

He did not make the trip in Watford's 1-1 draw at Barnsley.

Leeds United used ten men to beat visiting Bristol City 2-1 at the Elland Road Park.

Winger Lloyd Sam was left out of the Leeds United team but attacking midfielder Albert Adomah lasted 87 minutes for Bristol City.

Leicester City maintained their unbeaten run in the Npower Championship with a 1-0 triumph over Brighton at The King Power Stadium.

Black Stars right-back John Pantsil replaced Lee Peltier after 72 minutes.

SCOTLAND

David Addy impressed in left-back for Panaitolikos which recovered from last weekend's defeat to beat Kerkyra 3-2.

Addy was booked on the half hour mark.

Dribbling wizard Quincy Owusu-Abeyie played full throttle for ten-man Panathinaikos which  managed a 1-1 draw with Atromitos.

Midfielder Alhassan Wakaso replaced Sérgio Organista on 69 minutes when Portimonense recorded a 2-3 loss to Belenenses.

POLAND

Former Dutch Under-20 international Fred Benson missed out of Lechia Gdansk 1-0 loss to Korona Kielce because of injury.

SERBIA

Winger Quincy Osei sat on the bench for Hajduk which suffered a 2-0 loss at Partizan Belgrade.

There were no Yaw Antwi and Akwesi Frimpong in the Vojvodina FK team that smoothly edged OFK Beograd 2-0.

Ghana defender Lee Addy lasted the entire match for Red Star Belgrade which thrush Borac 3-0 in an away fixture.

SPAIN

Villarreal are still without a win and are languishing in the relegation zone after they recorded a 1-0 loss at newcomers Granada FC.

Youngster Richard Boateng was left out by Granada and Wakaso Mubarak was included in Villarreal's team.

Youngster Jeffery Sarpong continued to sit on the bench for Real Sociedad which suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sevilla.

TURKEY:

Former Heart of Lions defender Jerry Akaminko was introduced in the 39th minute for Manisaspor which recorded a 1-0 loss at his former club Orduspor.

In the Turkish second-tier, Dominic Adiyiah failed to find the net for Karsiyaka which drew 1-1 with Goztepe.

Former Berekum Chelsea striker Bismark Idan watched the entire game from the Goztepe bench.

UKRAINE

Derek Boateng was a full timer for FC Dnipro which beat Tavriya 2-1 in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Compatriot Samuel Inkoom sat on the Dnipro bench.

Daniel Addo was sent off with a quarter of an hour left for play for a second bookable in Zorya FC's pulsating 1-1 at Illichovets Mariupol.

MLS

Striker Kalif Alhassan was key to Portland Timbers' 3-0 hammering of New England Revolution.

In the Junior Major Soccer League, 15-year-old Silas Kyei Twumasi scored the consolation for South Bronx United in their 2-1 reverse at Christopher Columbus.

 

NETHERLANDS

Vitesse Arnhem returned to winning ways with a heavy 5-0 win over Roda JC.

Midfielder Anthony Annan was the fan-belt of the Vitesse team.

Former Ghana U-17 striker Kelvin Bossman was introduced in the 62nd minute and booked five minutes later when Almere City recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over his Helmond Sport.

Striker Kevin Tano was a second half sub for Dordrecht 90 which fought from a goal down to beat Cambuur L 2-1.

GERMANY

TSG Hoffenheim move within Uefa Champions League spot after a comprehensive 3-1 victory over ten-man Wolfsburg.

Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah played at the heart of defence for Hoffenheim and was booked on the 78th minute.

Winger Mohammed Lartey played full time for Hansa Rostock which dropped into the relegation zone after losing 4-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena.

FRANCE

On-loan Lille defender Jerry Vandam was a pillar in defence for Caen which shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Auxerre.

Midfielder Moussa Narry sat on the bench in Le Mans 1-0 home reverse to Metz.

Speedster Haminu Dramani lasted 80 minutes for mid-table Arles Avignon in their 2-0 home reverse to leaders Clermont Foot.

Centre-half Dennis Appiah watched the entire match from the Monaco substitute bench as they drew 1-1 with an enterprising Bastia side.

SWEDEN

James Frempong picked an 89th minute booking but helped IFK Norrkoping to fight from behind to beat GAIS 2-1.

Midfielder Reuben Ayarna was replaced after 77 minutes GAIS.
