A 5-0 lead in any match is a good enough result for any side not to worry about a second leg encounter.

However, that is not the case for the Black Princesses as they host Algeria in their 2018 Under-20 Women’s World Cup (WWC) qualifier.

The Princesses have a commanding 5-0 lead from the first leg of this first round encounter, but there is no way they are letting down their guard in the second leg at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Coach Yusif Basigi, who is leading the Princesses’ campaign, says there is no way they will take their feet off the pedal as they want to advance in the qualifiers.

“The Princesses have a tradition of being a high scoring side at least in the qualifiers. We don’t want to break that tradition, but more importantly, we want to advance in the qualifiers and the only way we can do that is to win every game,” Coach Basigi, told The Mirror.

Coach Basigi anticipates a very defensive play from the Algerians as they would want to avoid conceding more goals.

“However, we have also strategised for them. We will play our normal game, but our focus will be on adding to our tally and not conceding any.

“With either Ethiopia or Kenya, both good sides as our next opponents, this second leg against Algeria will be our preparation match, so we will go all out,” Basigi indicated.

Also, with an array of talented players at his disposal, Basigi’s problem could be naming his starting XI to execute his plan.

That, he says will not be a problem as the players are all capable of starting, but he is likely to stick to his starting line up in the first game, with Princella Adubea replacing Sandra Owusu-Ansah who has secured a foreign deal with Zouk Mosbeh Girls FC in Lebanon.

The possible line up could thus be: Martha Koffi Annan, Gladys Amfobea, Justice Tweneboaa, Blessing Agbomadzi, Philicity Asuako, Grace Asantewaa, Helena Obeng, Grace Acheampong, Ruth Anima, Princella Adubea, Rafia Kulchire.
