Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew has played his first match for Belgian side Lierse during their training tour of Egypt.

The utility player looks to be on trial with Lierse as he seeks to leave Egyptian side Zamalek next week with Belgian side.

He played the entire duration of their friendly against Wadi Degla as they beat their Egyptian counterparts 1-0 on Monday.

Ayew played in the first half as a right-back and playing in the midfield after the break.

It is not known if a deal has been reached with Zamalek for Ayew to mover permanently to Belgium.

He will consider the move to Finland if the Belgium deal falls through.

Ayew has not played competitively for Zamalek since Hossam Hassan took over as the coach of the Whites despite the youngster being part of Ghana’s World Cup and Nations Cup team.

Lierse is owned by an Egyptian businessman who signs players from the Egyptian league for the market in Europe.
