Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has refused to pass judgement on a penalty that was awarded to Ghana in Saturday's 1-1 stalemate with Uganda in a 2015 AFCON qualifying tie.

Opinions remain the Ugandan defender had a clean and fair challenge but the Tunisia referee Said Kordi adjudged him to have obstructed Waris inside the box, a decisions largely deemed as soft.

But Kwesi Appiah says the referee took his decision and must be respected.

"The referee takes his decisions and we've to respect it," he said during Sunday's Presser after the game.

Uganda coach Micho has blasted the referee for his decision and labelled the penalty as dubious.

Ugandan players staged a brief protest against the decision but the Tunisian referee stood his grounds.

The Black Stars needed a 50th minute penalty won by Trabzonspor new-boy Abdul Majeed Waris and converted by steamroller Andre Ayew to snatch a point against the Cranes of Uganda at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
