Referee Reginald Lathbridge- 'I'm not worried by my suspension reports'
King Faisal players protest a penalty decision by referee Reginald Lathbridge.

Referee Reginald Lathbridge says he is not perturbed by reports that he will be sidelined from officiating in the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.

Reports went rife earlier this week that, the experienced referee will be facing a severe punishment from the Ghana Football after his mistake in the match involving Elmina Sharks and Bechem United.

According to the reports, Lathbridge was found to have erred in his match report in the aftermath of the game between Elmina Sharks and Bechem United clash on match-day seven of last season's Ghana Premier League.

He wrongfully recorded a booking for Bechem United Joseph Amoah instead of Elmina Sharks Felix Addo, which made Amoah ineligible to feature against Hearts of Oak but the player did feature which renders him unqualified.

Surprisingly, Lathbridge after seven months was made to do the correction which has caused a foil with regards to the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League as Great Olympics seek redress in the law courts.

However, speaking to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Lathbridge insisted that he's not bothered by reports making rounds as he believes he's done nothing wrong to warrant any punishment.

"I'm not perturbed about whatever anyone is saying about me, it is out of mediocrity and primitive minds that will say I was drunk on the day, I'm waiting for the FA to come out with their final findings and I will officially come out by organising a press conference," Lathbridge stated on Oyerepa FM.

"Which drunk referee can handle a 90 minute match? I just came from from Ivory Coast where I handled a match and it should tell you this is no news, this will be no reason why I will be ostricised from officiating in the yet to begin league season."
