Richardson won't slam Gyan over move

Sunderland midfielder Kieran Richardson is refusing to join the crucify Asamoah Gyan brigade as the fallout from his shock loan move to Al Ain in UAE continues.

The Ghanaian striker's decision to take the money and head out to a league regarded low profile and low quality has upset Sunderland with manager Steve Bruce still baffled by the decision.

Richardson believes Gyan could be back at Sunderland when the loan deal expires and suggest the nature of football means Gyan was right to look out for himself first when the Al Ain offer came in.

"He’s only gone on loan so he might come back,” he said. “But I wouldn’t begrudge him that money. I wouldn’t begrudge anyone anything in the game because you are here today and forgotten tomorrow."
