Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy Adjei was dropped from the Ghana squad picked for Tuesday's international friendly against South Korea over his form.

The former Ghana number two was touted as a replacement for Richard Kingson whose blunder cost Ghana a goal during last Friday's 3-1 win over Congo in a 2012 Nations Cup qualifier.

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic shocked many by leaving him out of the 17-man squad to play at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Tuesday night.

His place has been taken by Berekum Chelsea's Ernest Sowah who was an unused substitute during last Friday's match at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Adjei's snub has fuelled speculations of a fall-out between himself and the technical team but that has been dispelled.

"There is a technical team in charge of the goalkeeping department and before the team left they met and discussed and they decided to drop him from the squad," Ghana FA vice-president Fred Pappoe told Joy FM.

"Ernest Sowah is not sick. He just had some slight problems he will be fine."

The Ghana-Korea game will kick off at 11.00GMT. GHANAsoccernet.com is hoping to broadcast the game live.
