Slight injury prevented Kwarasey call-up in Ghana squad to face Guinea, set to return next month
Adam Kwarasey was scheduled to be called in Ghana's squad.

Norway-based goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey was excluded from Ghana's squad to face Guinea in this month's 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers because of a knee problem as he was originally scheduled to make the Black Stars squad for the two matches.

The Stromsgodset goalkeeper was scheduled to be named in the Black Stars squad for the two matches after ending his rift with the technical team following some clear-the-air talks following his concerns since the country's participation in the World Cup.

The 26-year-old reconciled with goalkeeper coach Nassam Yakubu which he had accused of being bias in his selection at the World Cup which prompted his public interviews on the situation after the tournament in Brazil.

But after smoking the peace pipe following talks with the technical team, he was scheduled to be called up for the matches against Guinea but the slight injury means he will be unavailable.

However he will return to action for the Black Stars next month as they end their qualifying campaign for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Kwarasey,26, accused the goalkeeper’s trainer of lacking the requisite know-how to train national team goalkeepers and also accusing him of causing his demotion as first choice.

The Norway-born also fired a barb at ex-coach Kwesi Appiah of bowing to pressure to replace him between the sticks for Ghana second Group G match against Germany at the 2014 World Cup because he couldn’t communicate with his defenders in any of the local Ghanaian languages.

As a result, Kwarasey was dropped for the opening qualifiers against Uganda and Togo early this month.

Kwarasey has been in top for his Norwegian side Stromsgodset, a team he captains, who lie third on the Eliteserien table.

The goalkeeper is widely respected as Ghana's safest hand with the other goalkeepers Razak Brimah, Fatau Dauda and Stephen Adams all contesting for the No.1 slot.
