The Ghana international looks forward to making more appearances with Italian side Bologna after making his official debut over the weekend.

Bologna midfielder Stephen Appiah made his debut with the club after a long injury lay-off this past weekend against Catania and has revealed he would be pleased to remain with the Rossoblu next season.

"When the coach [Franco Colomba] called me to go and warm up, I thought it was finally my time! Then I was excited when I saw the fans staring to cheer and those on and off the field embraced me," he told the club's official website, bolognafc.it.

"I told myself to hold on because I was nearly crying with joy. Football is my profession and the passion at a time like that caused a tear in my eye."

Appiah is on the verge of making a second successive World Cup appearance after being named in Ghana's 30-man provisional squad.
