Ghana captain Stephen Appiah impressed in his first start for Bologna who earned a final day draw at Cagliari on Sunday in the Italian Serie A.
Appiah played for 66 minutes and was replaced by Masimmo Mutarelli after Cagliari drew level through Daniel Ragatzu.

He played his first club football last week and seems to have regained his self-confidence ahead of next month's World Cup finals.
Appiah has been named in Ghana's pre-World Cup squad and will play in his second successive finals.
