Asante Kotoko striker Saddick Adams believes the club can progress to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup competition should they replicate last Sunday's performance in Congo.

The Porcupine Warriors commenced their Africa campaign on a winning note by beating Congolese side CARA Club 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Despite the win, the Reds squandered a host of chances as well as three penalty misses in the game to the chagrin of their boisterous supporters.

However, Adams believes they could advance to the next phase of the competition if they can repeat the display they put on Sunday.

"It is one of those things in football. You don't always get what you wish for but I'm glad we won. Though by a slim margin but our confidence ahead of the second leg will be buoyed by this victory. We are down but are not out." The Congolese are good side and but we have what it takes to eliminate them.We will surely qualify should we replicate same performance," he told Light FM.

The striker was thankful to their teeming fans who turned up in their numbers to cheer them on." We are thankful to the fans for such a rousing support. I've not seen them this way in recent times. It's rather unfortunate we couldn't win massively but we still have a game to make amends."
