Sulley Muntari suffers injury - could miss England, Congo matches

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari is doubtful for the Black Stars' two matches over the next eight days because of injury.

The England-based player is expected to join the Ghana camp in Kenya from Monday but an injury he suffered on Sunday is threatening his availability.

He is likely to undergo tests on Monday to determine the extent of injury.

Muntari suffered what looked like a hamstring injury during a Premier League game on Sunday.

He was susbstituted just after 19 minutes of Sunderland's 2-0 defeat at the hands on Liverpool.

GHANAsoccernet.com insiders in Sunderland say he complained of a sharp pain which prompted his substitution.

This means he could be ruled out of the clash the vital African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo on Sunday.

If he is unable to recover he will also miss the historic friendly against England in Wembley two days later.
