Sunderland determined to keep Asamoah Gyan

Sunderland will resist any attempts to lure Asamoah Gyan away from Wearside this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Sunderland’s £13m Ghana international hitman, who has smashed 10 goals in his maiden Premier League season.

However, with Darren Bent leaving last January, Fraizer Campbell out of action for 12 months with knee ligament damage and on-loan Danny Welbeck set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season, Black Cats boss Steve Bruce already knows he will be on the lookout for three new strikers in the summer.

He has no intention of making his recruitment headache worse.

Record buy Gyan has settled in well in the North-East and wants to bring his family over to England before the start of the new season.
