New coach Goran Stevanovic has recalled talented midfielder Sulley Muntari for next week's friendly against Togo in Belgium.
The Serbian manager also recalled Spain-based midfielder Derek Boateng for the game to be played in Antwerp on Tuesday.
France-based defender John Boye returns to the side for the first time in two years while Bernard Kumordzi of Greek side Panionios returns since missing the World Cup.
Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan was excluded from the squad because he is suspended for the next two official Ghana matches while Michael Essien of Chelsea is absent for unknown reasons.
As revealed by Ghanasoccernet.com this week, Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Ernest Sowah was handed a place in the squad while  David Addy and Nana Akwasi Asare have been called in an attempt to solve the left-back problem.
Muntari's return to the team will attract some interest as the player has not been called since the World Cup in South Africa.
His had a row with former coach Milovan Rajevac which led to his axing but Stevanovic has hinted that he will give the new Sunderland player another chance.
Boateng, like Muntari, left Ghana's World Cup base before the team departed which prompted a silent suspension from the team.
His performances for Getafe prompted Stevanovic to give him another chance while several players on the periphery of the squad have been called.
New Partizan Belgrade duo of Prince Tagoe and Dominic Adiyiah will lead the attack for the game against Togo.
