Tagoe replicates Bundesliga form in Ghana World Cup training camp

Germany-based Prince Tagoe has been the most impressive striker in Ghana’s World Cup training camp since the retreat started in Paris on Monday.

According to sources within the Ghana team, the Hoffenheim forward now looks to have sealed his place in the Black Stars the final 23-man squad thanks to his performances.

The technical team as well as players and officials at the camp have been amazed at his work rate and improvement in his positioning which has resulted in some amazing goals he has scored so far in training.

His impressive form with German side looks to have had aa trickle-down effect on his style of play for the Black Stars, making competition for starting places in the team even keener.

Tagoe is competing with Asamoah Gyan, Matthew Amoah and youngster Dominic Adiyiah for a starting place but his experience in Germany seems to have positively impacted on him according to the Ghana team officials.

He has regained his form at club side Hoffenheim after a dubious medical test which suggested he had a heart problem nearly marred his career.

Tagoe is aiming to play in his first World Cup finals after being named in the initial 30-man squad.

Ghana’s campaign at the last World Cup ended at the first knock-out stage in a 3-0 defeat to Brazil in Germany.
