Team of the Week: 30 Sept- 2 October

ADAM L KWARASEY

Adam Larsen Kwarasey was rested by Stromsgodset for the Black Stars double-header in the next ten days or so. His might have well cost Stroms their defeat.

DANIEL OPARE

The Black Stars make-shift left-back had yet another memorable evening as Standard Liege defeated Lierse 2-0.

His show was above average.

NANA AKWASI ASARE

Nana Akwasi Asare advertised his colossal talent on the flanks as FC Utrecht returned to winning ways with a 3-0 trouncing of RKC Waalwijk.

FC Utrecht's current form in the Eredivisie is laid on the form of the Ghanaian.

He was quick in joining the attack and solid for Utrecht in times of defence.

JERRY VANDAM

The on-loan Lille defender was at his maximum best for Caen. He slotted in the right-back position well as Caen drew 1-1 with OG Nice.

ISAAC VORSAH

Bayern Munich went to Hoffenheim with world class strikers but Isaac Vorsah applied his freezing brakes on them all.

He proved a tough customer for free scoring Bayern side that featured Mario Gomez, Arjen Robben and Frank Ribbery.

RABIU MOHAMMED

For the 38 minutes that Rabiu played Evian, he kept his composure and highlighted his signature square passes, good anticipation and ball-winning mentality.

AFRIYIE ACQUAH

Acquah has now emerged as a super-sub for Palermo. He reads the game well from the bench before coming on and that is exactly what he did in their 2-0 thumping of Siena on Sunday.

He blocked every last space in midfield for Siena to use.

He then turned his attention initiating deadly attacks and it worked perfectly well for the enterprising side.

MOHAMMED ABU

For one player who deserves commendation for an improving form for club is Mohammed Abu.

Though Stromsgodset lost 1-0 at in-form Odd Grenland, the 19-year-old who is now with the Black Stars distinguished himself in midfield.

His defence splitting passes and ball-winning abilities was great.

KWADWO ASAMOAH

Kwadwo Asamoah was quite impressive for Udinese who enjoyed leadership of the Serie A for some couple of hours after comfortably beating Bologna 2-0 at the Stadio Friuli.

Asamoah's combination with Pablo Armero was applauding. He looks to be on the way to recapturing his delightful form we saw last season for the Little Zebras.

ANDRE AYEW

Andre Ayew scored his third goal in four days for Olympique Marseille in the 1-1 draw with Brest at the Stade Velodrome.

Ayew exploited the Brest midfield with his dazzling skills and breath-taking antics.

But for the bluntness of the Loic Remy and Mathieu Valbuena, Marseille would have nicked their second victory of the season.

DOMINIC ODURO

Oduro scored his 13th goal for MLS side Chicago Fire in their one-all drawn game with Houston Dynamo.

The 26-year-old was the livewire in Chicago Fire team and remained a constant threat to Houston Dynamo until he was replaced on the 57th minute by his Ghanaian compatriot Patrick Nyarko.

His leveller was a true reflection of his ever improving form.
