Three coaches in the hunt for Kotoko job

Published on: 24 May 2012

Three local coaches- Abdul Karim Zito, David Duncan and Michael Osei-have been linked to the Asante Kotoko coaching job, MTNFootball understands.

Contrary to earlier reports, league title winning coach Maxwell Konadu will resign after Sunday's final round of matches to concentrate on the Ghana national team job.

Zito, a former Kotoko player and coach, is said to be the preferred choice of the club's Executive Chairman Dr KK Sarpong.

He has rich coaching experience from the Ghana Premier League after handling Hearts of Oak, BA Stars and King Faisal.

Zito has also coached Nigerien side Sahel Sporting club.

His rival for the job will be David Duncan who left AshantiGold in 2010.

Michael Osei is a former Kotoko player and has been serving as an assistant coach of New Edubiase United.

Kotoko won the 2011/2012 Ghana Premier League title with four matches to spare.
