Former Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo has paid a glowing tribute to the late Coach E.K Afrane who passed on three days ago.

The celebrated coach passed on in an accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway when he was being transferred to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Mahatma hailed the impact of the veteran coach on his career.

In a facebook post, the Ghanaian striker reminisced how Coach Afrane identified his talent and guided him to his current level.

Otoo wrote: “A hat-trick and a brace within a fortnight at the grassless Indadfa Park in a national Division 1 League game for St Mirren prompted the celebrated coach E K Afranie to extend an invitation to me into the Black Starlets in 2008. I was his trusted striker, and he took special interest in my career advancement through the Black Satellites and Black Meteors, in natural progression. I am aware of the pain he caused to some people, and the subsequent hatred I had, when he strongly recommended to late Jordan Anagblah to appoint me captain of the Black Satellites 2yrs on. Perhaps if he was in charge, WHO KNOWS WHAT NEXT? Nana,I will forever be grateful to you, even in death. I salute you and may your soul rest in peace.”
