Solomon Asante opened his USL account by scoring for Phoenix Rising in their 1-1 draw at Orange County SC in their first match of the season.
The Ghana international ensured the visitors took the lead on 11 minutes.
Forward Billy Forbes got out wide down the left flank and then drove into the box. He fired a cross toward the other side of the box where Asante was there to finish.
The goalscorer was replaced on the hour mark by Kevaughn Frater.
Late on, Orange County's defender Alex Crognale came off the bench in the final 10 minutes and scored the equalizer in the 90th minute for the hosts.
Asante's countryman Gladson Awako played the entire duration.
